Ford Rouge Factory Tour / Visitor Center

The Ford Rouge Factory Tour is a multimedia museum which introduces guests to the history of the Ford Motor Company using state-of-the-art projection systems, theatrical effects and a vintage collection of classic Ford cars. Inside the Art of Manufacturing Theatre, guests experience a multi-sensory look at how cars and trucks are built today. Sitting in seats that swivel 360 degrees and surrounded by huge screens, visitors become part of the assembly process during this virtual tour, experiencing the heat from blast furnaces and the rumble of stamping presses.

In the Legacy Gallery, visitors can see examples of automobiles once created at the Rouge – a 1929 Model A, a 1949 Coupe, a 1955 Ford Thunderbird, a 1965 Ford Mustang, and the current Ford F-150.

CD+M provided a full turn-key design, supply and installation contract on this stunning project, which was the first LEED® Certified Gold museum project in the US. The project also received the 2004 Themed Entertainment Association Award (THEA) for Best Visitors Center.
