The new 175,000 square-foot McAllen Convention Center is the centerpiece of a large mixed-use retail, exhibition and arts masterplan, designed by Atlanta-based tvsdesign, in partnership with Corpus Christi-based Gignac & Associates.
CD+M Principal Ted Ferreira designed lighting for all of the interior public spaces and exterior site, including the exhibition hall, main and prefunction lobbies, ballroom, meeting rooms and boardrooms.
Located in the Rio Grande valley near the border to Mexico, the center serves as an important commercial keystone in this fast-growing city.
