The Genetic Medicine Building, designed by Lord, Aeck & Sargent Architects, is a state of the art research building. At approximately 333,000 square feet, it is one of the largest buildings on the University of North Carolina Charlotte campus.
The facility houses the School of Pharmacy, as well as the departments of Genetics, Biochemistry and Biophysics and Pharmacology. The circulation spaces are tied together by a dynamic, daylit atrium space. CD+M supported the interior lighting design of public spaces under contract to Atlanta-based design architect Lord, Aeck & Sargent.
