Attendance Booms At LEGOLAND Malaysia

On September 15, 2012 LEGOLAND Malaysia officially opened its gates to the public, marking the brand’s sixth location worldwide and first venture into the Asian market.  During opening weekend, 10,000 visitors enjoyed the 40 rides, themed performances and array of interactive attractions that fill the park’s 74-acre campus.  With ambitions of reaching one million visitors in its first year, LEGOLAND Malaysia exceeded company expectations and welcomed 250,000 guests in just over a month and a half, a testament to the park’s overwhelming success.

legolandEquipped with an abundance of hands-on activities and sites, LEGOLAND Malaysia encourages visitors to interact with their surroundings as they adventure through the park.  More than 50 million bricks went into LEGOLAND Malaysia’s brightly colored décor and construction. MINILAND, one of the park’s seven unique lands, features a collection of 1:20 scale LEGO replicas of some of Asia’s most iconic landmarks including Angkor Wat, the Taj Mahal and Kuala Lumpur Tower.

CD+M provided full interior, exterior and facades lighting design for the project.  The custom scheme compliments the park’s unique architecture and vibrant details while creating a brightly lit, safe environment for nighttime enjoyment of the park.
